Okay, so long time no blog. Going to fix that. I've been really happy and I used to blog cause I was pissed off. I have revisited a hobby that is making me extra happy and I want to blog about that!
I have home brewed off and on for over 20 years, but I have recently got back into it in a big way.
When I was a kid, I liked programming my Apple ][ and building electronics. I got away from that, but also recently found some projects that sparked my brewing interests. I built a computer controlled, networked fermentation chamber, and started brewing 1 gallon batches of beer as that is what would fit in the "dorm" fridge we had. I bottled the "Fat Jack's O'lantern Ale" today, and then brewed a "Fanty's Funky Framboise" afterwards. Jack and Fanty are kitties that allow us to cohabitate with them, and my brewery is called Brouwerij van de Slecht Katten, or Brewery of the Bad Cats. Jack is a fat orange tabby, so the pumpkin pie ale is named after him, and Fanty is well, Fanty! She looks like the Phantom of the Opera, and is not really a cat, she is just Fanty! So, sour's are named after her. Next on the brew list is a session saison to be called Queen Mac's Princess Pillow Saison. Mac is the first cat that adopted me, and she would sit on one of the couch pillow with a "princess" look on her face. When all the cats finally come together, she WILL be the Queen, so there is the reason for the name.
As I develop recipes, I will post them. And I will post more about food too. Maybe I should change the name of the blog to "Food and Brew with Attitude!"
